President: Julie Songer has been a communications professional for over 20 years. Currently, she is an internal communications writer at Northrop Grumman. She began her career as a radio news and sports anchor in Dallas, where she worked for KRLD, USA Radio Network, Fox Sports Radio and KTCK, the Ticket. She also anchored international and business news at an English-speaking radio station in Taiwan. Since leaving radio in 1996, Julie has worked in public relations for Burk Advertising, internal communications for Celanese and marketing copywriting for NEC. Julie has a bachelor’s in telecommunications and French from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Dallas.
Past-President: Jerry Stevenson is a director in the personal and electronic communications practice at Buck Consultants, an ACS company. He has a unique background that combines traditional communications and software engineering. Prior to joining Buck in 2006, Jerry managed a private consulting practice for seven years, with more than a dozen Fortune 500 clients. Before that, he spent seven years at EDS, helping them develop one of the world’s first and largest corporate intranets. In 2004, Jerry was named “Communicator of the Year” by Dallas/IABC. In 2003, he co-authored Ragan's Almanac of Top Intranets, a best practice study of electronic employee communication.
Gayle Goodman

President-Elect: Gayle Goodman is vice president of marketing for Efficient Attic Systems, a premier provider of energy efficient attic solutions in the existing home market. Previously, Gayle was director of marketing communications for Centex, one of the nation’s largest home builders. For more than a decade Gayle had served in various roles for Centex, most recently as director of communications for Centex Destination Properties, the company’s resort and second home division based in Lake Mary, Fla. Gayle holds an M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Dallas and a B.S. in journalism from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. She is a graduate of the North Texas Business for Culture and the Arts’ Leadership Arts program and currently serves on the Planning Council of Hearts & Hammers-Dallas, Inc. Gayle resides in East Dallas with her husband, Greg and daughter, Ailish.
Finance Director: Denise Stokes is the public relations and communications manager for the Frisco Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. She focuses on cultivating story ideas and gaining positive exposure for Frisco as a leisure, convention, and event tourism destination. She directs ongoing media relations with local, regional, and national travel writers and other media. She also oversee development of special projects, newsletters and other CVB newsletters, and website content. Prior to joining the Frisco CVB, she worked for 10 years with ABC Radio Networks in Dallas, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Denise is currently working toward an Executive MBA at Texas Woman’s University.
Secretary: Stephanie Anderson Forest has more than 20 years experience in business journalism and corporate communications. She is currently an editor and senior writer at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) in Plano. Forest joined EDS in 2004 after spending 15 years as a national correspondent for Business Week magazine in its Dallas and Atlanta bureaus. Prior to Business Week, Forest was an editor and staff writer for Pacific Business News in Honolulu. Forest is an award-winning business journalist and corporate communicator. Recent awards include a 2007 Silver Quill Award of Excellence (Writing), two 2007 Silver Quill Awards of Merit (Writing and Online & Electronic Communications) and three 2007 Dallas IABC Quill Awards of Excellence (Writing, Electronic & Digital Communication, and Audiovisual). Forest earned her B.S. in Journalism from Louisiana State University and her masters from Central Michigan University. She lives in Rowlett with her husband, two sons and two dogs.
Roy Miller

Membership Director: Roy Miller is president of RGM Communications, a service firm delivering business-to-business communications counseling, public relations and marketing support for mid-market firms. A journalist at heart, Miller has worked in both corporate and agency environments, and has spent most of his career in technology, health care and retail. Miller was named to the Dallas/IABC board of directors in 2003. He was awarded the chapter's Pegasus Award in 2004 for his outstanding contributions to Dallas/IABC, and served as chapter president in 2005.
Programs Director: Melinda Guravich is an international marketing professional with 20 years experience in the consumer goods and software industries. She is currently manager of corporate sales and marketing support at Mary Kay Inc., responsible for communication of marketing strategies and product launches to sales and marketing staff in Mary Kay's international subsidiaries. She also leads Mary Kay's annual global marketing assimilation week in Dallas. She received the Dallas IABC Quill Award of Excellence for international communication. Melinda is a graduate of Thunderbird in Glendale, Arizona and the University of Texas at Austin.
Bronze Quill/Knowledge Recognition Co-Director: Carrie Mamantov, marketing communications manager for Travelocity Business and GetThere, has spent five years at Travelocity and its parent company Sabre Holdings. Carrie has communicated via e-mail, intranets, extranets and webcasts, and is now fulfilling B2B marketing needs with online ads, e-mail and viral campaigns, paid search and SEO projects all supporting both sales and customer communications. She calls herself a "hybrid" and "closet computer geek" because despite her preference to interacting with people, she enjoys finding technical solutions to communications issues. Carrie has been involved with Dallas/IABC since she started the SMU chapter as president in 2000.
Technical Director: Richard Buse, owner of R.S. Buse Communication Services, has been an independent writer/consultant for the past 20 years. Celebrating 20 years with IABC, Richard started as a member of IABC Southeastern Wisconsin (1986-2001) and board member from 1989-1995, including chapter president (1993-1994). Richard is active in the Dallas ASTD (American Society of Training and Development) and works with the Hope Clinic, a non-profit facility in Waxahachie where he lives with his wife, Chris, and four step-children.
Chapter Support Director: Paul Maynard, an account executive with Zachry Associates, has 20 years’ experience as an events and trade show professional and has produced events and programs in 35 cities in 21 states and 7 international locations. He has worked in Marketing and Communications departments for Honeywell, Fujitsu, and Alliant Techsystems; as an independent consultant, providing marketing, sales and communications support to clients; and generating new business for a number of small and start-up businesses in Dallas and Minneapolis. In his role as an account executive with Zachry Associates, Paul develops new business and manages major accounts in the Dallas Meteroplex market. Paul earned his BS from the University of Arizona, and did graduate studies in Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.
Bronze Quill/Knowledge Recognition Co-Director: Sarah is Marketing & Development Manager for the Charles W. Eisemann Center for Performing Arts and Corporate Presentations, a facility of the City of Richardson. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Sarah began her communications career as Creative Director of her own advertising agency in Little Rock, Arkansas from 1985-1999. Upon her return to Texas in 1999, she joined Fort Worth Dallas Ballet as Director of Marketing until 2002. Until joining the Eisemann Center senior staff in February 2003, she did consulting projects for TITAS and other arts organizations and corporate clients, and continues to serve as Creative Director of the Dance Council, designing and producing their publications.
Communications Director: Mary McMinn is an independent communications consultant and senior writer working for global organizations and entrepreneurial entities, providing strategy, planning, management and written materials for clients.She is an award-winning writer and manager – including IABC’s Bronze Quill and Silver Quill awards – with an extensive background in technology and executive communications. Mary has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from The University of North Texas and a master’s degree in business administration from Texas Woman’s University.
Chapter Services Director: Since 2001 Donna has been integral to the development and launch of various intranet and web-based applications and programs for Verizon, including the birth of Verizon’s employee website and the Digital Workplace, which was cited by Forester as a Best Practice, citing Donna’s role as lead communication strategist. Prior to her current role as Director of Corporate Communications at Verizon, she was a communications manager for EDS in Plano, Texas for five years and held a similar position at a Dallas-based Internet marketing firm called imc2. She was named 2003 Communicator of the Year by the Dallas chapter of IABC and served on the Board of Directors during six terms.
